While I'll be the first to admit Westerners do this, so does every other culture in the world. It's human nature to assume that the way your culture does things is the 'normal' way to do them, until you become exposed to other cultures. | |

Dominant in Europe, Africa, or the Americas (or even Western Asia,) not so much. There was no worldwide "dominant culture" 600 years ago. From about 500 years ago on, Western exploration and imperialism started spreading Western culture around the world, but I suppose it's accurate to say it didn't really reach the level of 'dominant' until ~300 years ago. | |
