I'm a beginner in this subject, but I've read on a textbook that the body is a fundamental key to the comprehension of the noumenon. I can't understand why one would say so.

This goes back to Kan't declaration that any knowledge of the noumenon is impossible. Schopenhauer identified the noumenon (what really is) with the Will, and believed we do have a back door to it through "felt experiences of our own intentional bodily motions (that is, kinesthesis). This felt awareness is distinct from the body’s spatio-temporal representation. Since we have insight into what we ourselves are aside from representation, we can extend this insight to every other representation as well", see IEP's Schopenhauer’s Metaphysics. – Conifold Apr 8 at 21:09
