I was always curious, how largely do emotions play a part in our decision making using individual knowledge possessed? This question is making me feel confused as this may imply does being completely rational alter the choices made on an everyday level? To what extent is rationality and irrationality required at times for an overall "good" decision made on a utilitarian level?

I would appreciate some input to this thought.
