What do you call a non-philosophical opinion given by a philosopher? Nietzsche wrote a lot of critical texts on religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy and science, but a lot of it is just opinions in my view. In the The Gay Science, a lot of the writings are just opinions or is it actually philosophy and what kind of philosophy would it be, because I want to read other similar books where philosophers give their opinions on random things.

  • Philosophy is a collection of (ideally) motivated and argued for opinions (reflections) on all topics. There are "philosophies of" religion, morality, culture, science, etc., specifically, if that's what you are looking for. – Conifold Nov 30 '20 at 4:23
