I believe this concept belongs to Levinas; he refers to it in Totality and Infinity (or Otherwise than Being or Beyond Essence, I do apologise, I no longer own these books).

When I read this concept, I took it (perhaps naively) to mean that psychedelic attribute to consciousness, which belongs to all sentient experience, and is basic to religious feeling.

Perhaps, though, you are familiar with this concept, and have a better refined idea of its meaning?

Many thanks

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection." - from Revelation 20
