What does author saying about death in these lines

"There is another consequence of the view that the evilness of death derives from the goodness of the life death takes from us: disquiet concerning death is the other face of love for life."

These are lined from the book philosophy of death. I didn't understand what author is trying to say here. what is meant by 'derives from the goddess of life death...'. I am not a philosophy student. So please explain in a way general reader can understand.
