@IsThatTrue I am saying that once someone accepts that some part of a text is a metaphor, then he should accept that any other part can also be logically considered to be a metaphor. Which does not mean that it necessarily is, just that it is valid to think it can be.

@DanBron I'm not saying it's not possible that only parts are metaphorical, just that it's dishonest to assume that some parts cannot possibly be metaphorical while others necessarily are.

@DanBron Shouldn't that be the logical stance to adopt? I guess the gist of this question is whether or not accepting only parts of something as metaphorical is logically honest.
