When we're dealing with basic terms and just clarifying what they mean, it seems rather silly. Words have meanings - and dictionary definitions provide the common frame of reference for the conceptual meanings of words to be made clear. If we can't at least agree on a frame of reference for conceptual definitions then it doesn't matter what we know anymore, communication is impossible. | |
